Panasonic ES2113PC Pivoting Head Facial Groomer, Pink Review.
"Smooth Face-I LOVE IT" 2006-08-28
By G. Brown
Excellent personal facial groomer and easy to use. Nice clean shave and no, your facial hair does not grow back thicker after you have shaved. Make-up foundations and moisterziers go on so much better and look flawless on. I will never wax or use cream hair remover again.
"Gorgeous Groomer! Bye-Bye Depilatory Creams!!" 2008-02-17
By Amy E. Santos (State of Perfection)
This Panasonic Facial Groomer is a wonderful product. One that I'm glad I took the chance on.
The groomer has a large blade that bends and pivots to hug the skin closely but not knick or cut! It's great for keeping your eyebrows tidy without having to use scissors. That always makes me nervous around the eyes.
I also use this to keep the line on the back of my son's neck between hair cuts. Which is quite often, but he hates those small hairs that grow back. It's simple to use and easily cleaned.
Great used as a trimmer for the binkini line. Very gentle on sensitive skin. A lot less messy than any of those depilatory creams offered by several companies. They all burn and smell just horrible!
This wonderful groomer comes with two sizes of trimmers to fit on the top for your eyebrows. One 6 to 8 mm and the other is 2 to 4 mm. It even comes with a spare blade!
So to wrap it up, in one simple and easy to use groomer, the Pivoting Head (which many other groomers do not have) follows the contour of the skin for close trimming.
The Micro-fine blade trims away hair on the face and neck!
Two Combs groom eyebrow hair to your desired length.
And last but not least the BLADE is HYPO-ALLERGENIC for sensitive skin!
This groomer is gentle and easy to use and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a super grooming tool. It has many uses and little fuss. It's definitely the best out of the ones I've tried.
Enjoy your purchase!
"WHY WRITE ANOTHER FANTASTIC REVIEW?" 2007-12-24
By Honest Consumer (USA)
Well, because this gem is pretty darn fantastic. Yeah, its plastic - and the head is delicate (for women's smaller hands only) when it comes to switching out the blades but BOY is this gentle. No real vibration, a little hum and zip, the facial hair is gone.
I'd read so much about Eplil-whatevers RIPPING the hair out from the roots - no way -I nearly developed red marks and ingrown hairs just thinking about that horrible process. Then stumbled upon this little gizmo (weigh nothings) which is about as small as a large ball-point pen. All those sparkling reviews couldn't be wrong - and they weren't. I'm extremely pleased.
I thought I had so much hair to remove, but no, not really - it took only SECONDS to remove hair I'd suffered for years with previously - boy wish I'd had this when I was a teen. No red marks, no nothing. Just no hair! Its so inexpensive I almost want to buy a basketful and sneak them into the pockets of some women I know who really need to trim up! (wink)
Just kidding - but honestly - buy one. Skip anything harsher or more expensive. Forget the chemicals and long afternoons with the Nad-y stuff...pop it in your purse and you've got your last beauty dilema solved! Whew.
"Facial groomer-- who knew?" 2009-01-07
By stellabella
While I bought this product after reading the positive reviews on amazon, I was still a bit apprehensive at the idea of essentially *shaving* my face! Eeeek! It turns out, this is not scary; I did not get five o'clock shadow (horror). I am a young woman but have always had a fuzzy face. Just genetic bad luck. Sometimes, under certain lighting conditions, I would feel like my face was just covered in hairs, and sometimes, they interfered with makeup application. I was bleaching and tweezing sporadically, but it was a quixotic battle. I'm happy to say, this really does the job! It's small and easy to use, and the fuzz is gone. I absolutely recommend it.
And for those seeking a longer term method of hair removal, I've recently discovered that it's pretty easy to learn how to thread your own face; look for videos on youtube. Between threading and the groomer, I no longer feel like a bearded lady!
"A great product" 2008-12-17
By Ruthie Ann (Oldenburg, IN USA)
Being menopausal, I fortunately was spared the hot flashes (at least so far)but not the facial hair. UGH!! I was using razors almost every day until I realized I'd make it easier on myself and get a women's shaver. I went on Amazon, put it in the shopping cart and saw the page of recommended items where I saw this. I read the reviews which were highly favorable so I deleted the shaver and bought this instead. I'm so glad I did. Though a lot of the reviews mention "peach fuzz",but being dark haired, I don't have "peach fuzz", but dark facial hair. This does a great job in removing it. I did notice that if it doesn't seem to be working going one way, use a different direction. Of all my 2008 purchases from Amazon, this is the one I'm the most happy with. Very highly recommended.

Loving Naturals Organic SPF 30 Sunscreen Zinc Oxide 2.7 Oz. UVA/UVB Review.
"Best Sunscreen!" 2010-05-15
By loves Family (IL United States)
I tried this sunscreen because it ranks #1 on EWG's website. I was very pleased with it! I did need to shake it up before using it because the oils would separate, but it goes on smoothly, has a very mild nutty scent that I didn't notice even after applying to my face. Works great in the sun and doesn't stain my clothing. I'm comfortable using this on everyone in my family. I would highly recommend!
"Absolutely the BEST!" 2010-04-21
By Jason (Highlands Ranch, CO USA)
I've never been a fan of sunscreens with multiple strange chemicals that make me feel so nasty I'd rather be burned. Luckily, I found Loving Naturals which not only works brilliantly but feels better on my skin than a massage from a supermodel...ha! The customer service from Loving Naturals is spectacular, the product amazing, and I feel great knowing my family is using the best.
"Best Sunscreen Ever" 2009-08-07
By Danan Healy
I LOVE this sunscreen. I use it on myself and my 11 month old daughter. It goes on smoothly, and it doesn't stink or have a bunch of crazy chemicals in it. It also is great in the water; it doesn't just come off while swimming.
I feel great using this after trying dozens of "commercial" products that either gave her a rash from head to toe or had such a long list of unpronounceables that I could hardly feel comfortable applying this to my baby's largest organ (her skin!).
"Love this sunscreen!" 2010-05-14
By jenthebrat (Florida)
I wanted a safe sunscreen for my kids - we live in Florida and go through tons of it. It applies easily with a slight tint so I can see if I missed a spot. The coverage is great and stays on well for our hours at the pool/beach. We love this!
"Excellent Sunscreen" 2010-05-11
By Sharon Casertano (USA)
I love Loving Naturals. It is the lightest and most protective sunscreen with the highest percentage of zinc out there. No other product can compete.

Vanicream Sunscreen, Sensitive Skin, Spf 60, 4-ounce Review.
"works and doesn't sting" 2007-07-09
By Susan E. MacQuarrie (Belleville, MI United States)
My dermatologist told me to use Vanicream or Neutrogena for my melasma. Neutrogena stings like crazy after using an exfoliator or Retin-A. Vanicream feels like a dream. I have never had any tanning or darkening of spots when I have it on. I have normal to oily skin and it doesn't make me break out. It is a little oily, but only if you lay it on too thick. If you want a matte finish to your face, that's what face powder was made for!
"Heaven sent" 2008-07-09
By robyndj (Cerritos, CA United States)
This is the only sunscreen that I don't have allergic reactions to. I've tried Neutrogena, Aveno, and other hypo-allergenic sunscreens, but sadly I'd break out into rashes a few hours later. A dermatologist recommended Vanicream a few years ago. He even demonstrated how gentle it was by putting it in his eye! He was a little out there, but he proved it caused no irritation.
It has a light scent and doesn't leave white streaks on your skin. It's a little greasy at first, but that goes away as you work it into your skin and as it dries.
If it weren't for this product, I'd probably still be wearing long sleeves and oversized hats in the summer time.
"Light texture" 2007-08-24
By Meg G. (Los Angeles, CA)
I've been using Skinceuticals sunblock for years and I have never found anything better until now. I love the consistency of this lotion, and it's broad protection against both UVA and UVB rays. It's perfect for my sensitive skin, and feel that it is more transparent than other products I have tried. Its light texture and high SPF, and lack of chemicals (or strong scent) is a combination I have not seen in other sunscreens.
"Great Sunscreen" 2008-05-14
By L. D'Antonio (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)
This is a great sunscreen. I had read about it online at another website that tests the strength and trustworthiness of sunscreen and this was rated very high.
"Excellent sunscreen for sensitive skin" 2009-03-21
By marmaladefille (California)
My skin reacts to a lot of sunscreens by breaking out in a rash, but I am a redhead and need very high SPF protection when I am outdoors for extended periods of time. This sunscreen does the trick for me when I am hiking and biking, and the physical block absorbs easily and doesn't leave a white film on my face. I don't use it on a daily basis, however (going to work in the city, when exposure is brief), because it does feel a little heavy for that purpose.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, 1.7-Ounces Review.
"Excellent Face Cream" 2010-01-02
By Kathy W (Baltimore)
I tried this one while hiding out from the world in Crisfield, Maryland for the Christmas-New Year holiday season with my relatives. I like it a lot! I am an "Olay" fan anyway, but have also used some other products. I heard on the TV that the Olay Regenerist line was "the best" or something like that, so here is my story:
It has a nice creamy texture. It goes on your face smooth and it just really feels good going on. It does have a semi-heavy scent blast that hits you when you put the first smear on, but it is not overwhelming and it seems to disipate quickly. My preference would be to have it without the scent. The cream just feels really good going on your face, kind of like putting your face on a cool satin pillow. The cream soaks in really nice too. It does not feel like it's going to rub off on the pillow when you hit the bed 5 minutes later like some other creams do. It also does not feel sticky like some creams do. After 4 days use on my face and neck, morning and evening, my face and neck feel really nice and soft (silky soft). I would think (based on my initial results) that this cream would have really nice results when used over an extended period of time.
I believe this cream holds its own against the other face products that I use, which include the Victoria Principal line, the Olay line, and the Seacret line (in the malls, from the Dead Sea). (I switch around between the products.)
The directions are really hard to read on this 1.7 oz red jar but they say the usual. They tell you to apply in small circular motions and avoid getting it into your eyes and to rinse with water if you do. (Duh. A no-brainer.) It also suggests that you focus on areas like the brow and jaw line. Olay is a Proctor and Gamble product.
I think it is also important to tell you that I am NOT one of those 25 year olds who has young skin anyway and is trying to tell you how beautiful my skin is. LOL. No offense, but the young whippersnappers haven't had time to mess up their skin yet! I am 60 years old and am very pleased with my skin. It is equally important to tell you that I did nothing special to my skin until about 4 years ago when I began a regular face cream routine. Those 4 years have paid off big time, so if you think it is too late or you are to old to bother, that is probably not true. I have had plenty of compliments on my skin.
With all that said, I recommend a good quality face cream, before bed and upon waking. This (and the other Olay products) seem to be worth your time and money. When you do your face, include your neck too. It shows. Rub it on in small circles, like they suggest, and rub up (not down). Ohhhh, might I also suggest no frowning. Only laugh lines are allowed :-)
"Great stuff" 2009-02-06
By A Payne (Illinois)
I'd read that this works better than $150.00 creams so I decided to give it a try. I like it a lot. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about when they say they don't like the aroma. I find it has very little, it's not a bad scent and I can't smell anything while I'm wearing it. I had to put my nose to the jar to smell anything.
Anyway, I recommend this product.
"REALLY makes a difference in the jaw line!!" 2009-07-15
By Lots Less Clutter (New Jersey)
I purchased this cream after seeing the commercial about it being better than creams that cost $350. I have been using it for months on my jawline only. (I use the ProX for the rest of my face and neck.) I am 60 and the firmness of my jawline was starting to grow soft. This cream REALLY and TRULY made a difference!! I usually dot it along my jawline. Then I take the base of my palm and rub firmly in an upward motion from under the jaw bone to just over the top of it. This cream is amazing as it really did "resculpt" my jaw line. I will never be without this cream. Don't hesitate to give it a try for a couple of months. You won't be sorry!
"The Best!.... even jawline!!" 2009-04-06
By J. M. Brockway (New York, NY USA)
I have tried everything even those high priced named brands..... this is by far the best. A very noticeable improvement of my jawline! My skin feels great! I swear by it! I will not use anything else.
"Actually Works!" 2009-03-04
By nightowl (Arizona)
Initially put off by price but wish I'd tried sooner - would have saved money from trying products that don't work. With this, skin showed almost immediate improvement - even more with time. Pleasantly scented and initially soothing, this cream can also be put on over other (at least partially absorbed) skin products. Great results - Highly recommended.

Philips Norelco Bodygroom Replacement Trimmer/Shaver Foil Review.
"Great" 2008-02-01
By B (Las Vegas, NV)
Like everyone else says, works better than the stock blade it comes with. I reluctantly ordered this blade because it says BG2000, and mine is a BG2020, but the box it comes in says it's compatible with models ranging from BG2020 to 2029, so aside from the weird naming scheme, this thing is great.
"Better than expected!" 2008-01-09
By B.G. (Albuquerque, NM United States)
After seeing that this was the cheaper of the few, I was kinda skeptical about the quality. Well after installing the shaver foil and going to town, I believe that it is actually BETTER than the one that came with the unit. Awesome!
"Better than the original" 2007-11-24
By C. D. Bowman (Seattle, WA USA)
I bought 4 of these based on previous reviews, since I travel frequently. My original foil was damaged in transit. The replacement is better than the original that came with the shaver!
"Better than the original" 2008-06-13
By Frederick P. Villani
The new shaver head is better and stronger than the original. It shaves closer and with less effort. It arrived in just a few days from stock. Thank you very much.
"Excellent!" 2008-06-09
By Deyker Espinosa
This is excellent.
I didn't find this in stores, but here was much more cheaper than other webpages.
I recommend this product to everyone who has a norelco bodygroom shaver

Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/Black Review.
"The Wife Says "Best Ever" For Her...." 2006-07-23
By IAMSLICK
This hair dryer is the third in a series of attempts to find the right hair dryer for my wife, who has long thick hair. The first one was a Vidal Sassoon that had ionic technology, but didn't get near hot enough. She was drying her hair for > 20 minutes.
The second attempt was the Revlon RV469 ceramic, which was much quieter and got hotter, but didn't have much air flow. Also, it is quite heavy. It was better than the first dryer, but not hair drying nirvana.
This dryer (Revlon RV544) has easily cut my wife's drying time in half. She has very thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. It gets hot enough that I actually tone it down to warm for myself (I have short, thick hair) whenever I have to use the dryer. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there.
My wife thinks this is the best dryer she has ever had. We highly recommend it.
"Singing the praises of the RV544" 2006-12-07
By Legend in My Own Mind (San Francisco, CA)
I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.
I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it.
"Light and Effective--Great Buy!" 2007-09-05
By Sydney (Lexington, MA USA)
I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Not so! The technology in this hair dryer is tourmaline ionic, meaning it reduces static, frizz, and boosts shine. I had a vidal sassoon before, and a Conair before that, and they were supposedly "ionic" but my hair was still quite a bit frizzy afterwards.
This Revlon is amazing, though--my hair is so straight, sleek, and shiny, without having to apply a bunch of creams or shining sprays. It saves a lot of time! It comes with two attachments (diffuser, concentrator)--I've only used the concentrator to straighten my hair and it takes around six minutes and works effectively.
Also, a HUGE bonus is its lightweight! The comparable Conair version (nearly same price, ionic) is so so much heavier, while this hairdryer is easy to move, so I can pick it up and use it all over my hair.
The only con about this as others have mentioned is that you have to hold it carefully or else your fingers will accidentally turn the hairdryer off--the buttons move easily and are near where you place your fingers to hold it.
Bottom Line: This is the best hairdryer for the price. When I used other hairdryers, my hair is very noticeably frizzier and less shiny compared to this Revlon. It's a reasonable price for the technology, and I definitely recommend it!!
"Hair Stylist" 2007-05-07
By D. Shaffer (Naperville, IL)
I am a hair stylist and have been for 20 years. I read an article that this dryer compared to the T3 (which is a couple HUNDRED dollars). I figured at this price, how could I not just give it a try. Well... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dryer! Quiet, light, powerful and dryies my hair FAST. I highly recommend this product!
"Light & Fast" 2006-08-17
By Riley (USA)
This is the lightest hair dryer I've owned, about half the weight of my previous model. I heard about this hair dryer on a morning TV news show and it was rated the best even over the $100+ tourmaline dryers, so for $23 I had to try it. It was sold out everywhere I looked...Target, Walmart etc. I finally found it here with a 1-3 week wait and ordered it. It did take about 3 weeks to get but It's so worth it. My hair is dry in almost half the time, the high setting is sooo strong. I highly recommend this especially if you have long thick hair like me that takes forever to dry naturally.

Panasonic ES8109S Vortex Wet/Dry Shaver with Nano Technology and HydraClean System Review.
"Panasonic quality at its finest" 2007-11-01
By C. Perry (NEW YORK, NEW YORK United States)
Ok, so this is my third Panasonic wet/dry shaver in about 5 years and, by far, this one is the best one yet. I've experimented with other manufacturers' shavers over the years, including Brauns, Norelcos and Grundig shavers, but I've ultimately found nirvana, ok, not quite nirvana, but a most pleasant shaving experience with Panasonic shavers. I love Panasonic's shavers because I like being able to shave in the shower with an electric shaver and a little glycerin based shaving foam (Gilette Series foam in the long silver tube works best for me and doesn't gum up the shaver like gels do). I swear, this unbeatable combination (i.e., shower steam, Panasonic wet/dry shaver and Gilette Series foam) shaves me closer than even the best blades that Gilette offers (at present, the Gilette Fusion) with far less irritation and with no annoying little cuts in conspicuous locations around my face and/or neck.
Just to review, my first Panasonic wet/dry was great and served me well for about 3 years, but when the Panasonic models came out a few years ago with the Vortex cleaning systems, I just had to have one, so I moved on to the model ES8078 wet/dry shaver. The ES8078 served me well for a year-and-a-half - until I dropped that bad boy in the shower earlier this week! 'Nuf said. It didn't break into a zillion pieces or anything, but the motor just stopped working. (It's actually kinda funny because I was so preoccupied with ensuring the safekeeping of that little shaver ever since I brought it home, chiding my poor wife for even looking at it wrong, and then my dumb arse drops the dang thing in the shower. AAARGHHHH!!!) Anyhow, after a quick review of the top of the line shavers from various manufacturers currently available (including the new Braun Pulsonic models), I opted to go for the latest offering from Panasonic. Even though the new Brauns cost $100 more than the Panasonics, their motors are still slower, and you still can't shave with 'em wet. For the uninitiated, higher motor speed = faster moving blades = less friction = less irritation. Panasonics have consistently had the highest motor speed available in any electric shaver.
I've shaved with the new ES8109S shaver for a few days now, and my first impression after the very first shave was that I got a very close shave (consistent with the performance of my prior Panasonics) and, try to understand this, my face did not FEEL as though I had just shaved. It may sound a little odd, but you know how your face feels sensitive to the touch after you typically shave? Well, that sensation, at least for me, was far less apparent after shaving with the new Panasonic. Heck, maybe it's the new curved blade and foil assembly that reduces irritation or something. In this respect, the new ES8109S actually outperforms Panasonic's prior top of the line offering (the ES8078) and actually causes even less shaving irritation than that model (which itself wasn't all that irritating to begin with). Also, much like the prior models, the little pop up trimmer on the side of the new shaver is great not only for trimming sideburns (which I actually never use it for), but also for capturing those awkward little hairs that lie flat or may be becoming ingrown. The latest model is also quieter than the last model and has a more substantial feel to it while holding it.
Oh, one more thing, the ES8109S comes with Panasonic's latest iteration of its Vortex Cleaning and charging base, which is slightly different from its prior models, but appears to use the same cleaning cartridge. The Vortex quietly cleans, lubricates and even fully recharges your shaver for you (alternatively, you can just plug the power cable for the Vortex directly into the shaver to recharge it). The cleaning/lubricating solution in the Vortex consists of a slender cartridge containing a detergent based solid that becomes "activated" when it mixes with water in the Vortex base. The cleaner is not alcohol-based, so it does not evaporate over time like the Braun cleaning solution does - along with the money you'll spend on their big, expensive refills.
In summary, I highly recommend the Panasonic ES8109S shaver to persons like me with sensitive skin that is prone to irritation (I know you're thinking, "Why didn't he just say that from the outset?") Hope this review helps!
LONG TERM UPDATE! - Well, I've had 8109S for almost one full year now and it's still going strong. I've noticed it's become slightly less efficient at capturing the few hairs on my cheeks that tend to lie flat, so it's about time for the annual changing of the foil, which I know (based on past experience with Panasonics) will restore the shaver to its fullest hair capturing & cutting potential. One tip I have about cleaning the razor - I shave and rinse clean my shaver every day, and I only clean it in the Vortex when it needs charging which, for me, is about once every two weeks. This cuts down on the usage of the cleaning cartridge. The need to clean your shaver will depend in large part on what you shave with (I use a foam, which tends to rinse cleaner than creams and gels). Also, one more tip regarding the cleaning cartridges in the Vortex cleaning system - you DON'T HAVE TO replace the cleaning solution at the manufacturer recommended interval. You can definitely get away with using them longer. I tend to use them until the service light on the Vortex base turns on, then I change the cleaning cartridge and water in the Vortex and it's good to go. I'm only on my third cleaning cartridge in the year I've owned the razor.
EVEN LONGER TERM UPDATE! - Well, it's a little over a year-and-a-half since I purchased this shaver, and it has died on me. It all started about two weeks ago when I noticed that it was holding less of a charge between chargings, i.e., I could get progressively less and less shaves per charge. Then the display started giving unintelligible readings that did not correspond to the charge level. Then, today, I go to try to turn on the shaver and no response. All in all, this shaver performed exceptionally well throughout it's lifespan and, considering the price of "next-best option" Gillette Fusion blades, was far less expensive, and less irritating, over time than shaving with blades. I have to admit I thought it would've lasted me a little longer than it did as past Panasonics I've owned have lasted longer. Now, I could try to have this thing repaired for some astronomical price, only to have it stop working again. Or, I could take this opportunity to purchase Panasonic's latest offering, the Arc IV Nano Men's Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver, which I've scoped out and seen positive reviews of here on Amazon. I think I'm going to go with the new Panasonic, but this time without the Vortex cleaning base as this was the 2nd Panasonic shaver I've owned (one of which I dropped) that I am now stuck with a useless Vortex cleaning base. Happy shopping!
"Braun vs. Panasonic" 2007-12-11
By K. Gehrke (Minnesota)
My 3+ year old Braun 7526 Syncro with Clean and Charge finally had enough. Prior to that was a blade preceeded by a Norelco.
Lets jump back a few years and share my history...
I have always broken out with razor burn and ingrown hairs on my neck for as long as I started growing facial hair. Cheap razors were terrable so I asked for an electric. The Norelco made it easier to shave but still had the issues. Several months later it was back to the blade. Someone suggested a foil shaver and, after much hesitation, I purchased the Braun. Wow! What an improvement over the blade and rotory shavers. I have been happily using it daily for almost 4 years. Dare I say...almost enjoy shaving. Razor burn is almost non-existant unless you grind away in an area for too long a time (come back to the area 15 minutes later helps), ingrown hairs are 98% cured, and it shaved closer than a rotory with only a few passes. A win/win combination. The cleaning system is great except when away from home and you have to do it manually.
That brings us to the present...
The Braun has hit the snooze button and no longer wants to get up in the morning with me. After many hours of research I thought I wanted another Braun...their top of the line Pulsonic model. Almost bought one based on a few blogs on the web. I did cringe at the asking price of $250 - $300 suggested retail. I have always enjoyed Panasonic products and noticed this razor at half the asking price of the Braun. It seemed too good to be true, but Panasonic products have never let me down yet. I gave it a try, knowing I could try it for 30 days and send it back if unhappy. I had nothing to lose.
I have had it a week now and nobody is taking this shaver away from me. I dare you to compare the 2 razors back to back and honestly say the Braun is worth double the price. They are, in my opinion, in the same class. The Panasonic is quieter both shaving and in the cleaning stand. It shaves closer and cuts more hair on the first pass, eliminating a 3rd or 4th pass. The Braun would sometimes knick my adams apple or lip and I have tried to get the Panasonic to do it but it wont (call me stupid). Since I dont have to shave 3, 4, or 5 times on my neck, the razor burn is gone. The ingrown hairs are 99% gone (I have had only one this past week). The cleaning gets the blades cleaner and they smell soapy clean and not chemically clean. The best part, a bonus if you will, is the Panasonic is water-resistant. Not only can you rinse the head off underwater at home or on the road, but you can shave in the shower or use shaving creams or lotions (gels are not recommended). The top of the line Braun can be rinsed under water but not used "wet" or with creams or lotions. The only drawback I could find is the travel bag they supply. I was hoping they could have supplied a better case to hold the cord and shaver for extended trips. Not a big deal though, on a big trip...I will have a big suitcase so I'm sure there will be plenty of room in there for a cord.
In conclusion, a great shaver with all the current technology and features offered by the competition at a reasonable asking price.
EDIT - MONDAY JANUARY 21, 2008
Since purchasing, this razor still continues to be my favorite. I have now started using it "wet" by warming my face with hot water, then applying a Neutragena shaving cream. The results are better. It shaves more hairs on the first pass, the cream eliminates any friction, and gives me the closest shave yet with an electric (some areas of the face feel like I shaved with a blade).
EDIT - SUNDAY JANUARY 18, 2009
Still loving it and using it everyday. However, the wife ran it through the front load washer tonight. It is now very clean. Still runs but needs a new set of blades. For added measure and the price of new blades and foil, I found a really good deal on the ES8228S shaver. The only difference between the two is the ES8228S adds a zippered vinyl travel case (vs cloth bag with draw strings) and the head has independent floating foil (each of the 3 foils is on their own suspension to track the curves of the face better).
"One of the Best Foil Shavers" 2007-12-27
By Snow Wolf (Southern California)
I've been using this Panasonic electric shaver with nano blade technology (ES8228 or ES8109S) for the past 2 months and love it. Without exaggeration, it gives me the closest shave ever, and I've been using the top of the line electrics from Norleco and Braun for over 20 years. I have compared the Panasonic shaver with nano blades with the Braun Pulsonic and Norelco Arcitec and found that the Panasonic gives me the closest shave. Dry shaving will also give you a close shave. You won't regret this foil beauty, and you can't beat the price.
"A quick comparo with the Braun Pulsonic..." 2008-09-23
By Dr. Dan (Miami, FL)
If you're an intelligent shopper you're doing some research comparing different shavers and brands. You probably read all of the bad reviews of the new Norelco shavers, and now you're probably between two shavers: the Panasonic ES8109S, and the Braun Pulsonic 7 series.
They're both great shavers, and in the end you'll be pretty happy with both. But the Panasonic has several key advantages for you to consider...
1) Braun's "superior" pulsonic technology makes 10,000 strokes. Panasonic's makes 13,000, for shaving, and a blistering 17,000 for cleaning purposes.
2) Braun's retail price is over twice that of Panasonic's.
3) Braun's shaver CANNOT be used in the shower. The 8109S can. In fact, it's fully immersible, if you feel like shaving underwater! :p
4) Braun's foil is straight, with a flexible head. The Panasonic's head is also flexible, but has a convex foil, which makes shaving under the neck much easier.
5) Both have a nifty cleaning mechanism for their shavers. To the best of my knowledge, the only way the Braun dries the shaver is with a heating element. The Panasonic not only dries your shaver with heat, but also a fan to really air it out. My shaver is bone dry once the drying cycle is over. Also, the cleaning solution for the Panasonic is alcohol-free, which prevents breakdown of plastics and water seals.
... I've owned three Norelco wet/dry shavers, and this is my third Panasonic. I gave the offering from Braun a hard look, but already knowing what kind of quality to expect from Panasonic for half the price, I decided shelling out crazy money for the Pulsonic just wasn't worth it. In the end, I not only saved money, but got my hands on a real gem of a shaver: easily the best I've ever owned, and the closest shave I've ever had. I highly recommend using this shaver with a glycerin-based shaving gel, such as those by Gilette or Nivea with MicroTec. Hands down, the closest shave you'll ever get in such a short amount of time.
"I agree it's tops" 2007-12-12
By Jerome Wendt (Northern Illinois)
I was going to buy the Braun Pulsonic until I read the reviews here and on other Web providers. They convinced me the 8109 was worth the purchase. Note that this shaver is the same as their more expensive 8228 except for a wood trim and case color on the latter. Out of box set up took 10 minutes to read and do. Charged up fully in 30 minutes even tho literature says "up to an hour". Wet shaves are great but even dry this shaver is without pulling and takes little effort for a shave second only to a blade. Putting in a new cartridge every month for the cleaning system is a minor nag but you can also rinse in tapwater. With a great shave, the ability to go into the shower with you, and a price well below The Braun, Panasonic has the winner here. To be fair, I did not shave with the Pulsonic and took the recommendation of others who had.

Panasonic ES8103S Pro-Curve Wet/Dry Rechargeable Linear Pivot Action Shaving System, Silver Review.
"IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN BUY IT!!" 2009-02-12
By goodwir (baton rouge)
I am 63 and my skin is a lot more tender and subject to cuts than when I was younger. I have been using electric razors off and on for about forty years - Primarily Norelco but also Remington, Braun and Toshiba. During those forty years I did not notice any significant change in the quality of the shave or the pulling, picking and burning that came from shaving certain facial sections over and over again. Panasonic takes electric shavers to a level that is comparable to a blade (which still gives the closest shave) without the mess and pain. I was not sure it was working until I felt the smoothness of the shave. Shaving is much quicker because there are few do overs and it does not irritate sensitive skin. A remarkable and greatly needed advance in electric shavers.
"Close, Smooth Shave" 2009-01-24
By Anonymous (Tracy, CA United States)
Best feature of this shaver is the close, pain-free, smooth shave. I would say 99% as smooth as razor, the difference is nominal (Can't tell the difference visually). I have a thick, tough beard and the Panasonic breezes through in very few passes. I get even better results on shaving the mustache, compared with my razor. The neck area is where the shaver has some difficultly, although I think it may be because the shaving cream has a tendency to wash off in the shower. After a second application of cream I can get as close. No razor burn, no in-grown hairs (I do get these with razors). It takes a few extra minutes to complete the shave compared to razor (maybe 7-8 min vs. 5-6 min). All in all I am pleased with the experience and do not plan to move back to razor.
"Great Shaver" 2009-01-09
By Henry A. Politano (Orange Park, Fl)
When my old Panasonic needed new blades and foil, I decided to shop for a new shaver. The motor after so many years of cutting my "wire beard" sounded like it was laboring. I thought I was tired of wet shaving and bought a top of the line Braun - it's for baby beards! Also, the Braun will not move over your skin if it is oily or micro-moist from a warm bathroom, even with shaving powder. It was returned. This ES8103S [[ASIN:B001DNE3KQ Panasonic ES8103S Pro-Curve Wet/Dry Rechargeable Linear Pivot Action Shaving System, Silver] shaver cuts my tough beard like it was fuzz, saving much time and my face! I don't have to push it hard against my face to get a close shave and it gets all the hard to shave face and neck areas.
"Highly Recommended!!" 2009-01-23
By SunshineShopper (Florida)
I have used electric shavers for a while now and I recently purchased the Panasonic ES8103S. The shaver is identical to the ES8109, which has the drying dock. The ES8109S is great, if you are willing to spend the extra $50 - $70 for the drying dock, but not a necessity. I believe this shaver is far better than any other on the market due to its 30 degree blade and all other manufacturers use a 45 - 90 degree blade which requires multiple passes. (I'm an internet shopping junkie; hence I do a lot of research on details about products). It was definitely the right choice to get the ES8103S.
"Exceptional shaver, shaves ultra close, highly recommend, great value" 2009-02-06
By Cute Chihuahua (Orient, OH USA)
I recently purchased this shaver because of the excellent reviews on Amazon. I had considered purchasing one of the more expensive Panasonic shavers but I decided to give this one a try because the price was so good. I have been using this shaver for several days now and I am very pleased with it. It is a gorgeous shaver and even better than I had thought it was going to be. It comes with a charging cord and travel case. It is very quite compared to most shavers. It gives the closest shave that I have ever had and I have tried a number of different shavers made by Braun, Remington and Norelco. It shaves the cheeks, upper lip and chin super fast without irritation but it takes a few extra passes on the neck for me personally. It can be used wet or dry and it cleans easily by rinsing it under water. Amazon is currently selling this shaver for about half the price that most other retailers are charging for it. If you are considering purchasing it then I would suggest doing so while the price is low.

Philips Norelco RQ10 Shaving Unit Review.
"Good deal" 2008-01-27
By D.M.K (Las Vegas, Nevada United States)
Amazon sell this for about half what phillips/norelco website sells it for. Great deal if you own a Arcitec shaver
"Great product" 2008-11-28
By Ryan Miller
I have owned a Norelco Arcitec for more than a year. After daily use, the shaver head started messing up and come to find out (after experiencing the NEW head) it was actually pretty dull. I purchased this product to replace my old razor head and I am more than satisfied with it. Based on other people's reviews I expected less. After receiving the new head and trying it out, I can tell you the razor is sharp and VERY smooth. This replacement head makes your razor feel like new again. The way it feels compared to my old one and how smooth it is is awesome! It's top of the line just like the original. It's a great product and I definitely recommended to everyone. Buy it!

Philips Norelco NT9110 Precision Nose and Ear Trimmer Review.
"Best Product of its kind!" 2008-01-07
By R. A. Wiesen
I have tried them all and this relatively inexpensive product is the best by far. I believe the rotary style trimmers, like all of the Panasonics, have a blade clearance too great to give a close cut. This trimmer, on the other hand, cuts nearly as close as a conventional safety razor. Buy one. You will not be disapoppointed.
"If it fails - wash it. This device works fine." 2009-03-14
By Nevermark (Coeur d'Alene, ID)
Many reviews claim this device fails quickly. My experience is that if you rinse after each use it works great, and if it seems to fail, it is easy to get going again.
I bought one, it seemed to fail in a couple weeks. I liked it enough that I bought another. It also seemed to fail in a couple weeks. They would just not turn on.
I checked Norelco's site which recommends a 2-minute soak in soapy water if a shaver won't turn on. I did that and now I have two working shavers, one for home, one for travel. I now rinse them after each use. They have worked great ever since.
"Best nose/ear trimmer ever created" 2008-09-07
By David Haakenson (Seattle, WA USA)
I've gone through 3 other nose/ear trimming products from other manufacturers. They never seemed to do a good job. I always had to make a second pass with a small scissors. Having to also use a scissors means the trimmer itself is a failure at its job.
But with this Norelco, it works perfectly. No need for a scissors.
Quite a few U.S. reviewers report that the trimmer stops working after a few initial usages, dragging down the rating for this product. But over at Amazon UK, the trimmer is highly rated. They experience the same problem, but apparently have figured out a solution (quickly remove and reinsert the AA battery). [...]
The wife tested the trimmer and loves it too, so we're buying another. And we've thrown away the earlier trimmers.
I highly recommend this product.
-------
UPDATE 03-21-2009:
Wow. By many of the reviews here, it's easy to see that people just return or toss something that stops working. How about reading the instructions? This trimmer is excellent, when used properly. I rinse mine in hot water for a few seconds with each use, shake it, quickly pat it with a towel and put the cap back on. It never fails.
My wife has one as well. She rarely rinses. Soon, her trimmer fails. She's ready to throw it away. Instead, to prove my point, I poured a half inch of kitchen vinegar into a small Dixie cup, set the dead trimmer to "on", immersed it into the vinegar and swirled it around. In THREE SECONDS, the trimmer came back from the dead.
Before you say this is a design flaw, take a look at Braun's premium face shavers for men. They now come with a replaceable fluid cleaner reservoir. After EVERY use, the shaver is returned to its pedestal, where you, the customer, are entrusted to push a button to begin the daily cleaning process. If you do, the shaver works perfectly every time.
With the Philips trimmer, you also need to do a tiny bit of maintenance to keep it running. Douse it under hot water, shake off the water, put on its cap. And make sure it doesn't have a dead battery.
If you can't do that, don't blame Philips. Or Amazon. Just buy a non-electric pair of tiny scissors and enjoy.
"Norelco Nose and Ear Trimmer Review" 2008-07-20
By Trimmer Buyer (Michigan)
I think this is the best nose trimmer you can purchase. I tried the Wahl, Remington, even the $50 Turbo Trimmer sold by Sharper Image. The Norelco beats them all. I was surprised of the low opinions that some other reviewers had of this great product. You can trim nose and ear hairs down to the skin level with this baby without pinching. Other trimmers leave a stubble or more. The cutter blades are in a row outside the trimmer, and with the thinner head being much narrower than other trimmers, you can glide it much further into the nostril to reach those long hairs in hard to reach places. The handle itself is plushier and softer than competitive trimmers so that it is nicer to hold. The Norelco also comes with two eyebrow trimmers that effectively trims those shaggy brows quickly. They even supply you with a little brush for the unit. There are no negatives to this little gem. I usually don't write product reviews, but after reading what the other reviewers said, I had to, as I am so satisfied with this product.... after wasting money trying competitive trimmers. You won't be sorry if you buy this unit.
"Awesome trimmer!" 2007-12-18
By Doug A. Schroeder (Pittsburg, Ks)
I bought this trimmer off Amazon for like 18 bucks. When I received it I was excited to use it. It doesnt pull hair at all! Its kinda scary because you think its gonna catch the inside of your nose but it didnt at all! It was quick and the added eye brow trimmers are great! I would however go to walmart and buy it for 13 bucks.

Remington MS2-390 Microscreen Rechargeable/Corded Men's Shaver Review.
""An Excellent Shaver and "A BEST BUY" to boot"" 2008-06-02
By R. E. WORSLEY (LEESBURG, FL. United States)
Have used this razor since Jan.'08 and it has been performing flawlessly since then. The June '08 issue of a leading Consumer Magazine has just rated this MS2-390 a "Best Buy", second only to the Braun 360 at $170.
After the initial 2 or 3 charge/discharge cycles to improve battery memory, it provides me with over 20 three minute shaves every morning, which more than lives up to the advertised 60 minute run time. This will vary, depending how you choose to keep this unit charged. I run it down completely and use the cord to finish up if the batteries run out before I finish. Then recharge it for 24 hours for the next cycle. The red low charge light will come on about half way through and the speed will slow down perceptively during the last half of the cycle, but will still shave until batteries are fully discharged. If you use the quick charge feature, at least once a year fully discharge and then recharge 24 hours to prolong battery life. Be sure to brush the cutters and blow off the screens after every shave.(I do not recommend using water to flush out razor cutters.) Do not expect too much from the trimmer except to get the occasional whisker that escapes the daily shave or to trim the sideburns. It is too bulky to be of any further use. After all, this is a razor to shave whiskers with and not for haircuts and trims. This Remington should provide many years of use as did my previous one. Even after the batteries are fully depleted, this razor will still work via the plug-in cord.
"Very Pleased" 2007-02-06
By M. Glosser (Everett, WA United States)
I've purchased many Remington products over the years, so I'm familiar with the brand and quality. This shaver is no exception. If you want bells and whistles...keep looking. I wanted a basic, nothing fancy, twin bladed shaver with trimmer and that's what I got. It does the job without a lot of fuss and a good price. This would make a great 'first shaver' for a young fella.
"Really great razor" 2007-05-16
By Retired Guy (Indiana)
I have now used the razor for about 3 weeks and am very satisfied with it. I bought a Braun first, and stopped using it after about two weeks, because of poor workmanship and poor shaves. I then ordered this razor and wish I had gotten it to begin with. I think this is probably the best razor I have owned in over 55 years of shaving (I am 72 years old).
"READ THIS IF YOU'RE STILL SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS SHAVER!!!" 2009-01-23
By Nick S. (Chicago)
I ordered this razor on Amazon and when I received it I quickly learned the pop up trimmer was broken. Now you're probably wondering why I would give it 5 stars if it was busted upon arrival. Here's why.
I was so impressed with how close the shave was and given the little use I'd get from the trimmer I considered keeping it but decided to return it. I'm the type that likes to see what I'm buying so instead of dealing with shipping cost issues I decided to head to Target to find this razor. They do not sell this model so I opted to try the Braun 3 series 340 model. This has the Triple Blade (two foils and the cutter in between the foil meant for longer hairs.) Although the build quality seemed better the shave was not even close to as smooth and this went back in a day.
I then stopped in a Fry's store and found the Remington MS2-390 as well as the Panasonic ES8043 model and decided to try the Panasonic. It boasts the sharpest blades and most aggressive cutting angle at 30 degrees along with a super fast 13,000 RPM motor. The Panasonic had the same Triple Blade Shaving system as the Braun 340 and the same type of shave.
Both the Braun and Panasonic caused minor irritation and left significant amounts of stray hairs on my neck that required the use of the trimmer to clean up. After 2 weeks with the Panasonic and the use of my old Norelco rotary (shaver I'm trying to replace) to finish up the neck area, I returned it. I went back to Fry's and bought the Remington MS2-390 again. The pop-up trimmer works this time but don't expect it to fling into action. When hitting the buttons it slowly eases its way into position.
With all this said the important thing is the shave. The Remington shaves soooo much faster and soooo much closer than the Braun and Panasonic. There is no reason for debate on which shaves closer. I realize that different beards require different types of shavers but the difference is so astounding that I can't imagine someone getting a better shave with the alternatives than with the Remington. One more thing to note is the cutters and overall head of the shaver is considerably wider on the Remington than the Braun and Panasonic so it requires a lot less time to shave.
This is probably a lot more than you cared to read but take it from someone who has tried the shavers in this price range. GET THE REMINGTON!!!
"Great shaver, better than my last Remington Microscreen" 2008-10-01
By Carl Gerstle
When my 6-year old Remington MS3-3000 foil shaver needed replacement, I looked long and hard at what to buy. Strongly considered a rotary shaver but after consulting Consumers Reports - decided to stay with a foil shaver. While the MS2-390 has 'only' two foils instead of three and has no battery fuel gauge I took a chance on this shaver. GREAT choice. It shaves better than the MS3-3000 did new, providing 20 days of shaving on its first charge. An important feature to me is the ability to leave it plugged in while charging without worrying about over-charging and on that score, the unit actually has an undocumented feature - the green charging light blinks when charging is complete so you don't have to guess at that. Neither the Remington website, or their owner's manual admit to this feature but it is definitely there. After a month now, I am very happy with this purchase. The bonus? Six years after my first Remington Microscreen, this replacement was half the price of what I paid in 2002.
